Good Food Guide Awards West Stoke House

The Good Food Guide 2008, published on 20 September, names West Stoke House near Chichester as the winner of the Most Improved Restaurant Award.

Already named as one of Michelin's Rising Stars, the latest award recognises the evolution of West Stoke's modern British menu under chef Darren Brown, who places emphasis on great quality seafood and locally sourced meats.

Elizabeth Carter, Consultant Editor of The Good Food Guide, says of the winner:

"Darren Brown cooks bang up-to-date modern British dishes with a few French influences thrown in for excellent measure. One reporter felt a dish of English asparagus with hen's egg and hollandaise reached new highs, thanks to well-sourced ingredients handled with style and simplicity."

Formerly part of the Goodwood estate, Georgian-built West Stoke House is a ‘restaurant with rooms' of the finest proportions. Accommodation comprises eight large contemporary styled double rooms and fabulous views over the rolling West Sussex countryside.

Accommodation in one of their luxurious double rooms starts at £150 per night including a hearty breakfast.
